DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer III position
in the Surface Transportation group based in Grand Rapids or Novi,
Michigan. This position will work on municipal and MDOT LAP
projects around the state.This position is expected to begin as
early as possible.Responsibilities include but are not limited
to:Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment
of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering
data using established and well-defined procedures.Works on
detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations
and relatively simple tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems
encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods
developed in previous assignments.Identifies discrepancies in
results.Provides guidance to entry level engineers.Performs work in
accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little
supervision.Independently performs all the tasks necessary to
complete primary designelements for engineering works.Performance
at this level requires developmental experience in a professional
position.Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and
vertical alignments and modelsPreparation of design reports
including design study reports, and technical
memorandumsCoordination with project stakeholders including
clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting
agencies.Working within the Transportation group on the planning
and design of civil engineering projects including local roadways,
arterials, multi-modal, utility, and drainage
improvements.Collaborating with design teams consisting of
multidiscipline design engineers, technicians, and plannersWorking
under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
and assist with tasks including preparing designs, reports,
engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual
aidsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS + 4 years of related
experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or
educationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering5+ years of previous design experience on transportation
projectsProfessional Engineer (PE)Experience designing municipal
transportation systemsExperience with 3D design software including
AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley ORD / Open RoadsMS Office software
(Excel, Word, Project) is requiredMust be a team playerAdditional
InformationOffered compensation will be based on location and
individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 -
